Catch Up Time

It's been about a month since I last blogged on this sight. And what a month it's been!!! For my entries about our trip to Australia go to "familyguttormsen.blogspot.com"
It was an amazing trip! Tasmania was incredible and WICKED the Musical was...well, it was just wicked! We had such a good time and we want to go back as soon as we can. There's so much more to do and see.
While I was gone to Australia my little branch almost fell apart. One family left immediately to go home to their married daughter who lost a baby which was almost full term. Another family flew home to Australia because of his father's sudden death. One of my RS counselors was diagnosed with Cancer and had flown to Singapore for surgery. Another family already in Singapore for a high risk pregnancy, delivered and the baby's lungs were underdeveloped and he was still in the hospital. BOY! I wonder if I should ever leave town again. But I did turn around after we came home and flew to Singapore to visit with Cindy and her new baby and to bring
Cindy, my counselor, home to Jakarta. Talk about a RS president that goes the extra mile...s.
Here's the update, Christy's baby is now doing fine and should be out of the hospital tomorrow. Cindy's tests all came back negative after her surgery and she was pronounced cancer free. Brother and Sister Hunter returned from his father's funeral and he said it was one of the most spiritual experiences in his life. I haven't heard from Lori regarding her daughter. They're still stateside. I'll keep them in my prayers.
Isn't it great how the Lord has His hand in all things. What a blessing to be here and to get to know all these wonderful, faithful saints.
One more blessing...I got to see my cousin in Singapore. He moved there about a month ago from Houston. We had a great dinner and a lot of fun catching up with our very busy families.

Death Becomes Her

After my recent trip home which included late nights, early mornings, babies, moving, cleaning, income taxes...
I returned to Jakarta exhausted and probably run-down. I must have breathed in someone's germs on one of my flights because I got sick almost as soon as I landed. After 3 trips to our medical clinic, multiple blood tests and an ultrasound of my liver (and all other vital organs) the doc finally (a week later) deemed it an upper respiratory infection and got me started on antibiotics, a spectrate (to break up the war going on in my chest) and cough medicine with codeine (the good stuff). Not any too soon either, because we fly out for AUSTRALIA tonight!!! Watch my blog for our adventures to Melbourne, Tasmania, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, sapphire mines and Sydney. Good'day mate!!!

Spencer, one month old

Early Morning with Gramma

The ONLY reason I'd get up before the butt-crack of dawn! I cherish my memories of these early mornings and late nights with my babies! I just can't get enough of these boys!!! and they're worth losing sleep over.

Ethan Turns One

My adorable grandson turned one year old on February 17th. I flew in for the party and of course to see his new little brother, Spencer, who was born January 17th.
Ethan had a funtastic birthday with lots for relatives and friends. We served mini pizzas all the guests could make themselves and peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. SpongeBob Square Pants made an appearance in the shape of a cake and we ate him. He was delicious. Happy Birthday Ethan, Gramma loves you very much.

WHEW!!!

I tried my first spinning class today at the gym we joined here in Jakarta and I think my legs are still numb, because I haven't felt them all day! I get really red when I work out hard and I learned today from my hunky spanish spinning teacher it's because I don't drink enough water. So now I don't feel my legs and I'm running to the bathroom every 3o minutes. Oh the vanity of it all!

Spencer George

Father and new son

Ethan and Spencer 11 months apart

FINALLY!

Hi everyone! I can't believe it! My first post! It's been a long time coming and I owe it all to my dear scrapbooking buddies (Carrie, Lyns, Kate and Emily) that have been encouraging me, tutoring me and even begging me to start my own blogspot! Thanks gals. I hope I can make you proud of all your love and effort on my behalf.

I have wonderful news! I'm a grandma, AGAIN! Spencer George Guttormsen was born a week ago, January 17, 2009 at 2:50 PM on his Aunt Jill's birthday. He weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. and was 18 inches long. I'll be traveling back from Indonesia on February 15th to Washington for Ethan's first birthday (February 17) and to see Spencer. I can hardly wait! Joshua and Chiree are so wonderful and email me photos daily to see his growth until I can get there.
